Another sad couple of months in the drumming world. Firstly we lost the great Louie Bellson in Feburary. Louie was the first drummer to use double bass drums and was one of the big three, along with Buddy Rich & Gene Krupa.

Then in March we lost the last of the Motown drummers, Uriel Jones. Uriel was responsible for some of the greatest hits from the Motown factory along with Benny Papa Zita Benjamin and Richard Pistol Allen.

Lawrence is now teaching pupils who had their own kits at home, so call for availablilty

We lost the great Earl Palmer in December. Earl was the first drummer widely recognised to invent the rock & roll backbeat, he was a major influence on John Bonham and many others. Just search Earl on the net and see how many classic songs and soundtracks he played on. God bless you Earl. RIP
